The honest math

Build the same development the usual way.

A comparable leader experience — a multi-day program, a 360 with debrief, eight hours of private coaching, lodging, meals, and travel — assembled from separate vendors in most major cities.

Built the usual wayTypical cost
4–5 day executive leadership program (university or boutique provider)$10,000 – $14,000
360° leadership assessment with professional debrief$1,500 – $3,000
Private executive coaching — 8 sessions at $500 / hour$4,000
Hotel — 5 nights in a major city ($300 / night minimum)$1,500
Meals — 5 days ($100 / day minimum)$500
Assembled separately≈ $17,500 +
SAIL — one experience$6,500

The $500 / hour coaching rate is what seasoned executive practitioners charge private clients — not a SAIL markup. SAIL includes eight of those sessions, the assessments, the program design, and the environment, in one price.

What $6,500 actually buys

“$6,500 isn't what the company pays for a cruise. It's what they spend to remove a leader from their normal environment, assess them from multiple perspectives, give them eight private coaching conversations, create individualized development work, give them enough space to actually process it, house them privately for four or five nights, remove most of the travel logistics, and then coach them through bringing the work back into the organization.”

What's included in the $6,500 SAIL experience

SAIL is not a leadership-program fee plus a separate cruise fare. The participant pays SAIL one price, and SAIL coordinates the included experience.

Why this is development, not incentive travel

SAIL includes assessment, individual development objectives, private coaching, behavioral commitments, and post-voyage integration. The ship is the environment that makes the development possible — not the deliverable. That distinction matters for how your organization categorizes and approves the spend: this is professional development, not incentive travel, and not a company-paid vacation.

What the employer sees — and doesn't

The employer receives

  • Confirmation of participation
  • Voyage dates and logistics arranged through the employer

The employer does not receive

  • Private coaching conversations
  • CrowsNest360 results
  • The Periscope Leadership Profile
  • Any personal development information

Any additional sharing requires the participant's explicit consent and is arranged in advance.

Optional coordination, at additional cost

  • Airfare

Not included in the standard price. Need flights? We can handle those, too — airfare can be added based on itinerary, origin, cabin/class preference and current fares.

  • Pre- or post-voyage hotel

Not included in the standard price. Coming in early? Staying after? We can handle the hotel — pricing depends on city, dates, property and occupancy.

  • Cabin upgrades

Your standard cabin is a private Sea Terrace. Where available, you may request upgraded Sea Terrace categories, RockStar Quarters or Mega RockStar Quarters. Please inquire if you'd like this type of accommodation for pricing. The SAIL program itself does not change based on cabin category.

How your employer may cover this

Your employer may cover the standard $6,500 SAIL experience as professional development, and separately elect to cover a pre- or post-voyage hotel or a cabin upgrade according to its own policies. SAIL makes no claim that any expense is automatically reimbursable or tax deductible — that determination rests with your organization.
